Christopher Hedquist

Christopher Hedquist (born 6 April 1980) is an American skeleton bob.

Chris Hedquist debuted in ninth -placed internationally in the Skeleton Championships 2003 North America in December 2002 in Park City. Shortly thereafter, he was runner-up at the U.S. Junior Championships behind Caleb Smith and fourth at the Junior World Championships 2003 in Koenigssee. In December 2003, he initially was in third place his skeleton Europa Cup debut in Altenberg, then in Calgary at the America's Cup, where he was second behind Zach Lund twice. In March 2004, winning the bronze medal at the National Championships of the USA followed. He also won in the season 2003/ 04 the overall standings in the European Cup before the Germans Michi Halilovic and Matthias Biedermann.

In November 2004 Hedquist won his first America's Cup race in Calgary. In January 2005, the profit at the Universiade followed. In November Hedquist won a European Cup race in Igls. It was followed by four wins in the America's Cup races in a row and in January 2006, the Skeleton World Cup debut as 15th in Altenberg. The America's Cup 2004/05 season he finished as runner-up behind Brady Canfield, the following season in third place. Qualifying for the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin missed Hedquist scarce. Since the season 2006/ 07 he starts regularly in the World Cup. Best result so far was a fifth place in December 2006 in Lake Placid. In the overall World Cup, he finished in seventh place. In 2007 he also appeared for the first time in Skeleton World Championships and was in St. Moritz Twentieth.
