Chuang Chih-Yuan

Chuang Chih -Yuan (Chinese庄智渊/庄智渊, Pinyin Zhuang Zhiyuan; born April 2, 1981 in Kaohsiung ) is a Taiwanese table tennis player who plays for Werder Bremen in Germany. He took in 2012 for the third time in the Olympic Games and was part of the fourth single. In 2013 he won the World Championship in doubles.

Career

Chuang Chih- Yuan's parents were Taiwanese national team. He had first international appearances in 1998 ITTF Pro Tour tournaments in which he participates to this day (2012 ) is often so successful that he always reached the Grand Finals since 2000. He won in 2002 in singles, 2008, he came in doubles with his compatriot Wu Chih- Chi to the final. In the Asian Championships in 2000 he was with the team in 2003 and Taiwan in second.

In 2004 he qualified for the first time to participate in the Summer Olympics. Here he left the singles quarter -finals against the Chinese player Wang Hao, the double with Chiang Peng -Lung came forth two rounds. In the next Olympic Games in 2008, he lost in a single in the third round against Yang Zi ( Singapore). In 2012, he came in an individual to the semifinals and then defeated in the battle for the bronze medal with the German Dimitrij Ovtcharov.

From 2000 to the present (2013 ) he participated in all 14 World Championships. It was not until 2013 he cashed a medal when he won at all in doubles with Chen Chien- An to a 4-2 victory in the finals against the Chinese duo Hao Shuai / Ma Lin the first world title for Taiwan.

Activities in Germany

2000 Chuang Chih -Yuan joined for the first time - from the Chin.Taipei team coming - the German Bundesliga club TTF Ochsenhausen on. A year later he moved to SV Pluederhausen, at the end of the 2001/02 season he returned to the TTF Ochsenhausen, with whom he became German champion in 2004. Here he remained until 2006, when he left Germany towards Taiwan. After an interlude at the Spanish Club de Tenis M. Caja 2008 he was again obliged by Ochsenhausen. Later he played in France Levallois sport. Since the 2012/13 season, he takes for SV Werder Bremen, with whom he became German champion in his first season, while with 21 wins from 24 games had the single best record in the league.
