Citroën Berlingo

The Citroën Berlingo is a MPV of the French car manufacturer Citroen. It is similar to the Peugeot Partner and came in late 1996 on the market. The name Berlingo is derived from the French word berlingots, a shortened version of the form Berline carriage. The NEUVORSTELLUNG won in 1997 together with the Peugeot Partner Van of the Year title.

There are different versions with one, two or no sliding doors with tailgate or rear doors and variants as a panel van with plate -clad side windows. A special feature is the multi-function roof of the equipment variant Spacelight / Modutop. In addition to about March 2007, a folding roof factory was available. Conversions as a camper are also offered, partly supported by the factory. Also an electric car version was offered as a Citroën Berlingo Electrique.

Citroën was the Berlingo, the first provider of a new class of high- roof station wagon, the base of which corresponds approximately to that of a VW Golf, but the offer the driver an elevated seating position and have a higher body over the entire length of the interior a very large volume. In January 2004, the Berlingo was with 1,074 registrations at number 48 of the best selling vehicles in Germany.

The models for the German market are produced in Vigo, Spain and transported by ship to Bremerhaven.

The construction of box cars are a tradition at Citroën. From spring 1951 to summer of 1978, 1,246,306 units of Kastenente ( Fourgonnette AK400 ) were built based on the Citroën 2CV. This was replaced in the summer of 1978 by the Acadiane, a panel van version of the Dyane, which was built by the end of 1987.

In the fall of 1984 came the next van C15 on the basis of visas to the market. The sale of the C15 was discontinued in Germany at launch of the Berlingo, with the factory Vigo ( Spain) ended the production of C15 on 2 December 2005 by around 1.8 million copies.

The first generation of the Berlingo was launched in late 1996 on the market. It is based on the chassis of the Citroën ZX and Peugeot 306

  • September 1996: Presentation of the Berlingo in Germany at the 56th IAA Commercial Vehicles in Hannover

  • June 2008: With the official launch of the second generation Berlingo in Germany, the model range of the first generation is significantly restricted. The Berlingo I will now be offered under the name Berlingo First and corresponds in its basic configuration about the Berlingo Advance formerly offered. The present model can be enhanced by a convenient package. As motors, only the 1.4 with 73 hp and the HDi 75 bhp diesel particulate filter without (FAP ) are offered. A tailgate is no longer available.
  • End of 2009: The last Berlingo First for the German market are produced. Since early 2010, the first - generation Berlingo no longer belongs here to the model program. However, in Argentina it is until today (August 2013) offered.

Berlingo Electrique

The Citroën Berlingo Electrique ( in Germany: Electric) was offered with a 15.5 -kW DC motor with separate excitation and recuperation, which accelerated the car to a maximum of 95 km / h. At the Geneva Motor Show 2008, the second generation of the Berlingo was presented, which in many respects differs from the first generation. The term Berlingo has remained, but now finds in a different font use. Since June 2008, the Berlingo II is offered on the German market. The vehicle is 20 centimeters longer than its predecessor and shares the floor pan with the Citroën C4 Picasso, which in turn is based on the platform of the Citroën C4. The Berlingo II has the same chassis as the Picasso, but a longer wheelbase.

In the rear, there is now some three equipment versions removable single seats ( standard on XTR, Exclusiv and eg for special model Mullewapp ). In addition, the Berlingo II the first to feature a height-adjustable driver seat, a folding front passenger seat back and a longitudinally adjustable steering column. The shift lever was moved to the instrument panel, the parking brake lever next to the driver's seat. The engine range comprises only 1.6 liter engines: two gasoline engines with 66 kW ( 90 hp ) and 80 kW ( 109 hp ) and diesel engines with 55 kW (75 PS; without FAP), 66 kW (90 PS; FAP ) and 80 kW ( 109 PS; FAP ). Depending on engine, model and equipment is the curb weight of between 1604 kg and 1681 kg, the trailer load braked is between 1110 kg and 1300 kg.

In addition, a commercial vehicle version is offered. In this, the load volume increased from 2.8 to 3.3 cubic meters at a load 565-775 kg. Facelift
