CityJet Limited is an Irish airline headquartered in Dublin and is a partner of Air France and generated 2012 sales of 300 million euros.

History

The airline was founded by Pat Byrne in 1992 and began in 1994 with the flight operations. The first route was from London City Airport to Dublin with a franchise agreement with Virgin Atlantic Airways. As of July 1997, the route was flown under its own name and design. At the same time cooperation with Air France and CityJet began flying the connection from Paris to London City on Air France.

In 1999, Air France took part along with Air Foyle Ireland with 25 % of CityJet. In 2000, Air France took over complete control of the airline. End of May 2009 was also announced that the 2007 acquired by the parent Air France VLM Airlines will fully integrated in the appearance of CityJet and operate under their name. At Paris -Charles de Gaulle Airport and the Paris -Orly Airport, CityJet operates a crew and aircraft service for Air France and its network partners.

From 2008 to 2013 also flew Suckling Airways connections for CityJet under their colors.

In March 2013 it was announced that the parent company wants to Air France -KLM, CityJet and to sell located in advanced talks with several interested parties. To facilitate the sale, CityJet flies since October 2013 outside the airport Paris -Charles -de- Gaulle no more than franchise of Air France, but operates stattdessem flights under its own name on a codeshare basis.

In December 2013, the sale of CityJet and their partners VLM Airlines to the German Aviation Intro by Hans Rudolf Wöhrl was confirmed. In January 2014 Wöhrl announced that CityJet is to be merged with the medium InterSky to a new society. At Intersky Intro Aviation is also involved.

Destinations

CityJet operates from its bases in London and Paris Flights with focus on Western Europe, will be flown for example Edinburgh, Eindhoven, Luxembourg and Nice. The flights to and from London City Airport to be marketed under their own name and flight number (WX ), in which case there is a codeshare agreement with Air France, the most routes to and from Paris in the order and names of Air France with their flight number ( AF) performed.

Targets in Germany are each from London -City of, Dresden, Münster / Osnabrück, Nuremberg and Paderborn. The latter three routes are, however, reinstated in March 2014.
