Clarence Hobart

Clarence Hobart ( * June 27, 1870 in Waltham, Massachusetts; † August 2, 1930 in Asheville, North Carolina) was an American tennis player.

Career

Hobart took from 1888 to tennis tournaments. In 1891 he reached at the U.S. Championships (now the U.S. Open ) the final, but was defeated there last year's winner Oliver Campbell in five sets. In doubles, he could see the championships in 1890, 1893 and 1894 win in mixed doubles in 1892 and 1893, and in 1905 on the side of his wife Augusta Schultz. He also took part in the Wimbledon Championships in part, where by reaching the semi-finals, he scored his greatest success in 1898.

Most recently, he played in 1919 at the American Championships.
