Claude-Étienne Guyot

Claude- Étienne Guyot ( born September 5, 1768 in Villevieux, † November 28, 1837 in Paris) was a French cavalry general.

Life

With 22 years Guyot joined in 1790 as a private in the army. After just recently, he fought in the Army of the Rhine and helped led by General Jean -Baptiste Kléber quell the uprising in the Vendée. He could be distinguished by bravery and changed in 1802 with the rank of captain for the Imperial Guard.

Guyot fought bravely at Austerlitz (2 December 1805), Prussian Eylau ( February 7/8 1806) and goods Nossentin (1 November 1806).

After subsequent promotions Guyot led his own command, and under the leadership of General Charles Lefebvre - Desnouettes he was among others in 1808 participated in the siege of Saragossa.

After subsequent promotions Guyot was transferred to the staff of Napoleon and fought at Aspern ( 21-22. May 1809 ), Wagram ( 5 / July 6, 1809 ). His bravery in Wagram was honored with the appointment as " chamberlain of Napoleon " and the promotion to General.
