Club Celaya

The Celaya Fútbol Club is a Mexican football club from the city of Celaya in the Mexican state of Guanajuato, which was founded on February 4, 1954, by return to the Segunda División, then the second- highest division in the Mexican football club, was added.

History

Already 1955/56, succeeded Celaya FC the runner-up in this league, but at that time was something of little yield, as the ascent alone was the master, in this case, the CF Monterrey reserved. The association would have with a little luck can certainly reach the eligibility for the Primera División.

For because of Puebla FC was at that time experiencing significant financial difficulties of the club to be able to suspend a year in the top division of Mexico asked to enter again the following year. Therefore, the championship was in La Liga 1956/57, with only 13 teams played rather than usual with 14 teams, as between 1955/56 and 1963/64. Because the financial problems at Puebla but had not significantly improved even after a year (without league game mode), the club withdrew completely from the top division. This meant that at the end of the season 1956/57, and the then current vice-champion of the second division, Atlético Morelia could perceive the rise to replace the resigning Puebla in the season 1957/58. Had Puebla already retired last year, Celaya would have become ...

But the Celaya FC finally managed without the support financially troubled clubs to fight their way into football House of Lords. Just one year later, at the end of the season in 1957/58, the club won the championship in the second division and was rewarded in the Primera División, with the rise.

With just one point ahead of the relegation CD Cuautla Celaya occupied at the end of his first Erstligasaison 1958/59 to 13th place (of 14 teams). In the 1959/60 season, the troupe could even increase, scoring with seven wins and 22 points (from 26 games) the 12th Place. But this was about the best result in the club's history, because from now on it went rapidly downhill. At the end of the 1960/61 season they finished with 19 points the last place and got down to the second division.

In the following years Celaya fell back even in the low ranks and eventually disappeared altogether; despite the meantime won third league championship in 1973/74 and the associated promotion back to the second division.

Only at the beginning of 2003 appears a name related "Successor club " of Celaya FC. After the previous decade had been dominated in the city in footballing terms from only the 1994 through a merger Club Atlético Celaya, but this fell into serious financial difficulties and was forced to sell his license during the winter break 2002/ 03, screwed up, for similar reasons the second-division club CF La Piedad Celaya and changed his name to Club de Celaya Cajeteros ( Cajeteros was the nickname of the former Celaya FC ). However, the artificially revived club had only a short flowering time. Already in the summer of 2005, the eligibility for the Primera División was 'A' sold to the Petroleros de Salamanca. By this measure, Celaya slipped for the season 2005/ 06 from the third league, where you the way back took under its original name Celaya FC. A year later, the club was due to the license transfer from Tijuana Gallos Caliente once again in the second division. But it was also this merely a short-term stint. As previously Tijuana was also Celaya now a farm team of the first division Querétaro FC and it is worth a special mention in this context that in Mexico since the 2006/07 season each in the Primera División gambling club is bound to be a farm team in the second division to entertained. But when Querétaro in summer 2007 even División in the Primera A relegation, the club Celaya was as a farm team absorbs superfluous and former first division completely, leaving the Celaya FC again for a short time disappeared before it with a new emblem - the ( in the representation modified ) bull of former city rivals Atlético - again made its appearance.
