Estudiantes de Altamira

The Altamira FC is a Mexican football club from the city of Altamira, Tamaulipas state.

At the founding meeting of the association, which is also referred to as Estudiantes de Altamira, came several hundred young people. Although this event took place on 12 July 2001, the official foundation took place only four weeks later, on 9 August 2001.

The club started in 2001 /02 in the third division and later acquired the license to participate in the second-class La Liga 'A', from which he, however, at the end of the season 2004/ 05 sporty descent. Between 2005 /06 and 2009/10 Altamira played again in the Segunda División third-rate, in the season 2010/11, however, is again represented in the sub-prime Liga de Ascenso.
