The local retail focuses on the area around the Sydney Road. However, it can also be found in other parts of the district, some supermarkets, pharmacies and other, mostly independent, retailers.

Main industry is a Kodak factory for film development. Kodak has announced plans that there are plans in the near future the factory to close.
