Codex Sangermanensis

The Codex Sangermanensis ( Gregory -Aland no DABS1 or 0319; α von Soden 1027 ) is a Greek- Latin manuscript of the Pauline Epistles, which dates back to the 8th century. The left side is each Greek, the Latin right. The Codex is a copy of the Codex Claromontanus.

Description

The Greek text of Codex Sangermanensis represents the Western text type and category III is assigned.

History

The manuscript was examined by Bernard de Montfaucon, Johann Jakob Wettstein, and Johann Jakob Griesbach.

The manuscript was collated in 1805 by Christian Frederick Matthai.

The Codex is in the Russian National Library ( Gr. 20) in Saint Petersburg.
