The mountain pass Col des Champs in the French Maritime Alps connects the town of Colmar, in the valley of the Verdon with the village of Saint -Martin- d'Entraunes in the valley of the Var in the Provence- Alpes- Côte d' Azur. It is a connection from the Col d' Allos to the Col de la Cayolle. At the 2087 m high pass summit, marking the border between the departments of Alpes-Maritimes and Alpes- de -Haute -Provence, there is no inn and no shelter.

The road over the pass is indeed consistently paved, the descent from the summit after Colmar is very narrow and crossed in the upper part of many deep gullies.

The French GR 52A also leads over the Col des Champs and connects Colmar and Entraunes.
