Colin Lloyd Charvis (* December 27, 1972 in Sutton Coldfield, England ) is a former Welsh rugby union player who was used to the positions of the winger and the number eight. He played for the Newport Gwent Dragons and was part of the Welsh national team.

Charvis began his career at the London Welsh before he moved to the Welsh club Swansea RFC 1995. His first international game he played against Australia the following year. Soon after, he was appointed captain of the national team and was part of the squad of the British and Irish Lions in 2001.

Charvis remained until 2003 in Swansea until the club structure in Wales changed. From the previous clubs were formed regional teams that will compete in the professional Magners League against Scottish and Irish teams. Following the 2003 World Cup, he moved to Tarbes in France and soon after to the Newcastle Falcons, where he was also captain. His contract with the Falcons was not renewed at the end of the 2005/06 season, so he moved to the Newport Gwent Dragons.

Charvis holds the world record for the most goals attempts by a striker. On November 24, 2007, he laid the last of his 22 tests against the reigning world champions South Africa.

After the 2008/ 09 season Charvis ended his club career. For his last season, he has extended his contract with the Dragons, where he was particularly active as a coach for the defensive. If necessary, however, he was still employed as a player. In the coming season he will work exclusively as an assistant coach.
