Constitution of Slovakia

The Constitution of the Slovak Republic (Slovak Ústava Slovenskej Republiky, No. 460/1992 Zb. ) Is the currently applicable constitutional Slovakia. It was approved on 1 September 1992 by the Slovak National Council by a majority of 114 deputies and signed on 3 September 1992 in the Great Hall of the Bratislava Castle. They came into force on 1 October 1992, with some parts only on 1 January 1993 after the collapse of Czechoslovakia. The supervision of compliance is carried out by the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic, based in Košice.

Since the entry into force of the Constitution, it has been eleven amended by constitutional laws. These are ( in chronological order ): 244/1998 Z. z, 9/1999 Z. z, 90/2001 Z. z, 140/2004 Z. z, 323/2004 Z. z, 463/2005 Z. eg, 92/2006 Z. z, 210/2006 Z. z, 100/2010 Z. z, 356/2011 Z. z and 232/2012 Z. z

September 1 is the National Day today Slovakia, and bears the name Deň Ústavy Slovenskej Republiky ( German Constitution Day of the Slovak Republic).
