At the song selection Nena expressed as follows:

" There are all songs that move something in me. There is an intense relationship to each piece. Some give me strength, others are important memories. Still others confront me with my thought patterns. Some of these songs I have to cry, others make me laugh. Some of the songs have accompanied me over 30 years. She " covers " me in all situations. We just had a lot of fun with it, to be inspired by these songs and to interpret them in our own way. With much respect and love we have approached all these beautiful and important songs and missed them a NENA - dress. "

While the German title of Derek von Krogh, Philipp Palm and Nena were self-produced, English-language pieces by Uwe Fahrenkrog -Petersen, former composer and keyboardist of Nena formation were produced. Only in the first single Open your eyes, also called the title song of the Pro7 - climate campaign CO2NTRA - acted to protect Galileo climate, Nena was both a composer, lyricist and co-producer.

Receptions

Thomas Winkler wrote in Spiegel Online: " She skillfully combines the rhetoric of the hit song with the aesthetics of rock and translates its outdated Heart Pain romance in the flowery language of modern New Age activists. This modernized sentiment fits well into the back seat of a motorcycle how to belly dance studio, everywhere there just where people are looking for support and guidance " Daniela Reichert keeps the album only halfway audible and was critical in laut.de ". Nena shows how difficult it may be, chose to cover sensitive songs and classics. What they held here, is just cruel. Two things are particularly on: Lack of creativity, which is almost too nice sounds for the loveless arrangements of the songs, and a merciless overestimation of their own vocal skills ".
