Genesis

On the album Nena worked with Kosho (guitar), Robbee Mariano (bass) and Ralf Gustke (drums ) from the Söhne Mannheims. Also producer Florian Sitzmann is a member of this band. The album was in the Sherwood Forest recorder in Charles Village Neuthard. The strings on the album were recorded by the Warsaw Radio Symphony Orchestra in S4 Studio in Warsaw.

Originally Nena had planned to release an album with songs that she had written from 1999 to 2001. However, Florian Sitzmann convinced her to compose along with it another album, followed by Nena was getting. This resulted in an album to experimentation with numerous elements of the music of the Söhne Mannheims, the rape, the New Wave and partly mystical approaches of New Age music ( up on the albums title but remain discreet ).

The album title comes from Hebrew and is in the Kabbalah, a form of energy from the tree of life. There is Chokmah for change and reprogramming. The title was chosen after the first text line of the song had stood firm: " It's no shock to my system."

Reception

While enhanced Alan Severa of Allmusic the album 4 out of 5 stars and described as as innovative as Radiohead and Björk, the album by Michael shoe is torn by Laut.de:

" Listeners Suddenly find her engulfed in soundscapes did bear close relation to Those used by Björk or Radiohead ( featured elements ranging from electronics to symphony orchestra ), so Which Means That You this album 's mood is radically different from all of her previous albums. " "

" Listeners will find himself in the middle of beautiful soundscapes that are reminiscent of Björk or Radiohead (with elements ranging from electronics through to symphonic orchestra). This means, therefore, that the mood of this album is radically different from all their previous albums. ) "

" And why do I find it all so boring? And placed? Is it top manufactures. Is it because that Edo Zanki is involved in the production, now and then even sing along? Nena want to sound modern, this may be their in parts succeeded. To me it seems never-ending Spiritualitätsgefasel strangely instructive. And unlike amateur philosopher Thomas D. ungroovy frightening. "
