Fire and Flame is the title of the published in June 1985 the fourth studio album by the German band Nena.
Background
After the release of the previous album with the title? (Question mark ) the group of March had gone on a tour of various European countries until May 1984, had among other gigs in Denmark, Sweden, the UK and the Netherlands completed. In October the band for seven concerts in Japan was a guest.
After the completion of the concert tour, the group went along with her producer Reinhold Heil to the studio to take fire and flame. The recordings were first held in different studios: In addition to the Spliffstudio in Berlin, where the group had previously recorded their albums in full, Mediterraneo Studio were used to Ibiza and Heil's recording studio in Berlin.
The strings used for individual songs belonged to the Deutsche Oper Berlin. The recordings for the stringed instruments took place in Berlin in Sim studio.
As a guest musician Frank Ricotti had (percussion ), David Sanborn (saxophone ) and Lisa Dalbello, Cosa Rosa, Gale Robinson, Ramesh B. Weeratunga, and Ron Rudolph (Backing Vocal) with.
The cover photo for the first time not the whole band, but a portrait shot of the singer Nena Kerner, after which the group was named showed, had been photographed by Jim missile.
As singles titles were Somehow, somewhere, sometime, fire and flame, and the house of the three suns decoupled. Of all three titles maxi singles were released: Somehow, somewhere, sometime appeared as a 7:15 minute long " Special 12 " Dance Mix " Fire and Flame had a length of 6:32 minutes, and the " Special Dance Mix " of house of three suns was 6:38 minutes.
The album also appeared in an English version under the title It's All in the Game.
Reception
Somehow, somewhere, sometime previously appeared on 24 September 1984 as a single and reached number 3 on the German charts.
The single fire and flame was published on 13 May 1985 and reached number 8 When the album was released on June 24, it took three weeks to boarding on 15 July 1985 to 6th place in the German album charts. It reached number two on July 29, 1985 and held a total of 18 weeks in the charts.
House of the Three Suns was published on 29 July 1985 but only reached number 43 in the German single charts.
