CPC Loop Den Haag
The CPC Loop Den Haag (short for City - Pier - City Loop ) is a road race in The Hague, the world is one of the most important half-marathons. It takes place in March or April since 1975. The program also includes a 5-km and 10 - km run.
History
On April 12, 1975, the race was held for the first time. On the nominally 15 km, but actually 14.5 km long course of the Lange Voorhout to Prinsestraat won the Dutchman Henk Kalf in 42:53 min. Since 1976, the race goes over the half marathon ( 21.0975 km ). Since 1980, women are at the start. Today the term is the largest sporting event in the city.
Route
The race runs along a large circular route between the city and the sea, which is traversed counterclockwise. The start is in the city center on the Herengracht, then the Grote Kerk is passed and completed a loop through the district Segbroek and finally reaches the district Scheveningen, runs at the beach along the course between km 12 and km 15. Part through parks, partly at the Koninginnegracht it along then goes to target, which is located not far from the start on the Lange Voorhout.
