Hilda Kibet

Hilda Kibet ( born March 27, 1981 in Kapchorwa, Keiyo District, Rift Valley Province) is a Dutch long-distance runner of Kenyan origin.

The niece of Lornah Kiplagat met in 2000 in their training camp in Iten the Dutch marathon runner Hugo van de Broek know, fell in love with him and followed him to the Netherlands, the adopted home of her aunt. There they initially focused on her training as a physiotherapist at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam and earned a bachelor's degree in 2004. Then she launched successful in road races. Among other things, she won the 2004 and 2007 Parelloop, 2005 and 2007, the Egmond Half Marathon, 2006 Montferland Run and in 2007 the CPC Loop Den Haag and the New York City Half Marathon.

On October 11, 2007 she received the Dutch nationality. Immediately thereafter, she made her debut on the marathon course and finished sixth at the Amsterdam Marathon in 2:32:10 h

In 2008, she focused on shorter distances. At the beginning of the year she was Dutch champion over 10 km and remained with 31:01 min just two seconds over the national record of her aunt. At the World Cross Country Championships she finished fifth, and on the track she made with a time of 30:58,48 min qualification for the 10,000 - meter race of the Beijing Olympics, where she finished in 15th place. In June, she won the New York Mini 10K, and in December, she won gold at the European Cross Country Championships.

The following year she was at the World Cross Country Championships in Amman Sixth and was third overall as the Amsterdam Marathon Dutch champion in the 42,195 -km distance.

In 2010 she finished seventh at the RAK Half Marathon, ten at the World Cross Country Championships in Bydgoszcz and won the Dam tot Damloop. At the European Championships in Barcelona it was first fourth over 10,000 m. However, after the runner-up Inga Abitowa has been locked, Kibet was awarded the bronze medal. At the Olympic marathon in London in 2012, she ran in 15th place

Hilda Kibet is 1.67 m tall, weighs 46 kg and lives in Castricum. She is coached by Gerard van Lent and starts for the AV Castricum. Even her younger sister Sylvia Kibet Jebiwott is starting for Kenya, as a long- distance runner successfully.
