Cristina Pomacu

Cristina Pomacu ( born September 15, 1973 in Calafat ) is a former Romanian long-distance runner.

She was particularly successful at World Half Marathon Championships. In the World Half Marathon Championships in 1995 she won the silver medal behind Valentina Egorova. 1997 in Košice, she finished second in a personal best behind Tegla Loroupe once again in second place. In both cases, they won the team with Romania. 1998 in Uster she finished second in the team, finishing in eighth place in the individual standings. In the World Half Marathon Championships in 2000 they finished seventh and celebrated their third win in the team standings.

On the full distance, they could not achieve similar success in international championships. The European Athletics Championships 1994, she finished only 24th place in the 1996 Olympic Games and at the World Athletics Championships 2001, she gave up the race prematurely each. However, you get a total of three victories at the Belgrade Marathon (1994, 2000, 2001 ) and a victory at the Marrakech Marathon (1995).

Cristina Pomacu were each twice Romanian Champion in Marathon (1993, 1994) and in the half marathon (1995, 1997). She is 1,64 m tall and weighed about 46 kg competition times.
