Critérium des As

The Critérium des As ( dt criterion of Aces) was a bicycle race, which was held 1921-1990 at the end of the season. As a participant in the best rider of the year have been loaded; was driven behind pace-setters in tandems, triplets, and motorcycles from 1947 to Dernys. Most sweeps took place in Paris and surroundings. Three times the race in the Netherlands and Switzerland was discharged.

The first edition in 1920, which is considered the forerunner of the exact criterion, walked over 1208 km from Paris to Bordeaux and back; Winner was the Belgian Louis Mottiat with a time of 56 hours and 48 minutes.

1921 was the second edition as an invitation race for the best racers; led the race 27 times over the approximately four kilometer circuit around the racetrack Longchamp in Paris.

Record winner of the criterion was Rik Van Steenbergen, who won five times, followed by Louison Bobet and Jacques Anquetil, each with four hits.
