Cuba Gooding, Jr.

Cuba Gooding Jr. M. ( born January 2, 1968 in Bronx, New York City ) is an American actor and Academy Award winner.

Life and career

He is the son of Cuba Gooding Sr., the lead singer of the American R & B group The Main Ingredient, and older brother of Omar Gooding. The addition Jr. he used to be confused with his father. His mother Shirley Gooding was a background singer of the Sweethearts. Gooding Jr. is married since March 1994, with Sara Kapfer, with whom he 's two sons Spencer (* 1994), Mason (* 1996) and a daughter Piper (* 2005).

Gooding Jr. studied Asian martial arts before he decided on acting. Through small roles in Hill Street Blues and MacGyver he drew attention to himself until he became known in 1991 by Boyz n the Hood. His final breakthrough came Gooding Jr. in 1996 with his role in Jerry Maguire, for which he received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

1999 Gooding Jr. produced the film A Murder of Crows - diabolic temptation.
