History

The name of the village is derived from the Aboriginal language and was first used in a lease in 1868 with respect to a nearby pond. Previously, the place Cubballing or Cooballing was spelled. 1899, the site was officially made known. He was one of the original Bahnhaltepunte the Great Southern Railway. Circa 1903 a school and a town hall were established. The community was founded in 1961 Council seat of the Shire in the year.

The municipality did not develop until after the 1920s, probably because of the size and economic opportunities in Narrogin. 1946, the school was closed.
