Da Vinci's Demons
Da Vinci's Demons is an American- British History series. Taking into account the well-known historical events, it is about the fictional youth of which later became famous inventor Leonardo da Vinci ( played by Tom Riley ) in Renaissance Florence. The television series is a co-production between the British broadcaster BBC and U.S. cable channel Starz. The first broadcast took place on April 12, 2013 in Starz, while the German -language broadcasting began in the pay-TV broadcaster FOX on April 17, 2013.
Action
The 25 -year-old Leonardo da Vinci is an Italian painter, sculptor, architect and inventor who lived in Florence in the late 15th century. The illegitimate son of Lorenzo Medici notary with his ideas and inventions ahead of its time. As a free thinker, he tries to fight against the lies of the church and against an elitist society. In Florence he begins to work for Lorenzo as a military engineer.
When Leonardo by a mysterious document, the Book of the leaves ( in the original: Book of Leaves ) listens, he moves with his two friends - his assistant Nico and his sidekick Zoroaster - on the search for the book, as this in his earliest childhood vanished mother related.

Production and broadcasting
The first season was filmed in the Bay Studios in Neath, Port Talbot and Swansea in Wales.
