The Daejeon World Cup Stadium is a football stadium in the South Korean city of Daejeon. It is also known under the name " Purple Arena ".
History
The stadium was completed in September 2001 ( building cost 128 million euro ) and was one of the venues for the Korean World Cup 2002. The stadium has a capacity of 40,407 spectators.
After the World Cup, it is now the home of the Daejeon Citizen, a franchise of the K League Classic, the top division in South Korea.
