Daniel Aranzubia

Daniel Aranzubia Aguado ( born September 18, 1979 in Logroño ) is a Spanish footballer who plays in the Spanish Primera División plays for Atlético Madrid.

Club career

From his own youth to Aranzubia could until goalkeeper in La Liga high work for Athletic Bilbao, where he was a total of eight years as a professional player from 2000 to 2008 under contract. He is one of the few native non- Basque players who ever aufliefen for Bilbao. The club is known mainly take Basques in his team. Since Aranzubia grew up in the Basque country, he did not break the self-imposed rules. After he was only third-choice goalkeeper in the summer of 2008, he left the club and joined Deportivo La Coruña. On February 20, 2011 in the injury time of the match against UD Almería he scored a header from a corner. This was the first headed goal of a goalkeeper in the history of the Spanish Primera División. In total he played 178 games for Deportivo in the first and second division. After the descent in the 2012/13 season he moved to Atlético Madrid.

National

On 5 June 2004 Aranzubia denied during the preparation for the European Championship in 2004 as part of a 4-0 victory against Andorra his first and only match for the Spanish national team, as he was substituted after half an hour for the injured Iker Casillas.
