Daniel Ochoa

Daniel Ochoa ( born 1979 in Sanger Oberhausen) is a German song, concert and opera singer (baritone ).

Life

The Leipzig singer received his first musical training in Leipzig choirs and was a member of the Gewandhaus Children's Choir. In 1999 he began his vocal studies with Anthony Baldwin at the Academy of Music and Theatre in Rostock, which he continued from 2002 with Hans -Joachim Beyer in Leipzig and graduated three years later with a diploma. When Dietrich Fischer -Dieskau, Rudolf Piernay, Marianne Fischer- copper, Horst Günter, Reiner Goldberg, Thomas Quasthoff, Matthias Goerne, chamber singer Christa Maria Ziese and Michael Rhodes Ochoa deepened his vocal training.

From 2006 to 2012, the baritone was mainly active as a concert singer. He has played, among others in concert halls such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Leipzig Gewandhaus the Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin, the Izumi Hall Osaka, the Hitomi Hall in Tokyo, the Konzerthaus DeSingel in Antwerp, the International House of Music, Moscow, Vienna's Konzerthaus and at the Semperoper Dresden. Ochoa was also at the Lucerne Festival, the Flanders Festival, the Dresden Festival of Contemporary Music and the Leipzig Bach Festival as a guest. His musical partners include the Dresden Staatskapelle, the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra, the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra of the North German Radio Orchestra, the Prague Philharmonic, the Staatskapelle Halle, the Bach Collegium Stuttgart, the Telemann Chamber Orchestra Tokyo, the Berlin Lautten Compagney, the Leipzig Baroque Orchestra, the choir of the Dresden Frauenkirche, the Stuttgart Chamber Choir, the Dresden Cross Choir, the choir and conductors such as Reinhard Goebel Helmuth Rilling, Roderich Kreile, Georg Christoph Biller, Frieder Bernius, Howard Griffiths, Andreas Spering, Güttler and Julia Jones.

As an opera singer, he was heard in various theaters, such as the Schleswig- Holstein State Theatre, the city's stages Gera, at the State Theatre Altenburg and also at free opera productions as in the Kampnagelfabrik Hamburg and the European Centre for the Arts in Dresden- Hellerau. He sang, among others, the title roles in Gioachino Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Mozart's Don Giovanni and Haydn's The Apothecary.

Since the 2012/13 season Daniel Ochoa singing as an ensemble member of the Vienna Volksoper.
