Darrel Scoville

Darrel Scoville ( born October 13, 1975 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is under contract with HC Alleghe in the Italian Serie A1 since August 2010.

Career

Darrel Scoville began his career as a hockey player with the Lebret Eagles, where he was active in the 1994/95 season in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. Then the defender played for three years for the crew of the Merrimack College before he signed a contract as a free agent with the Calgary Flames on 12 June 1998. During the three seasons he spent in the franchise of Canadians, he played almost exclusively for their farm team, the Saint John Flames of the American Hockey League, with whom he won the Calder Cup in the 2000 /01 season. Only during the season 1999/2000 denied the links Sagittarius six games for Calgary in the National Hockey League.

After he could not prevail in Calgary signed Scoville on 10 July 2001 also as a free agent with the Columbus Blue Jackets, for which he further ten games played in the following three seasons in the NHL. As in Calgary he came again predominantly in the AHL farm team of the Blue Jackets, at the Syracuse Crunch, are used. During the NHL lockout in the 2004/05 season the Canadians ran in the AHL for the Hershey Bears and Providence Bruins. In the summer of 2005, he signed with EC VSV in the Austrian Hockey League, with whom he won the national championship in the 2005/06 season.

In summer 2009, Scoville was committed by Villach League rivals EHC Linz. In August 2010, he joined the Italian club HC Alleghe from the Serie A1.
