Dashboard Confessional

Dashboard Confessional is the stage name of American musician Christopher Ender Carrabba, who is also a leader of the musical group of the same name.

Life

At 15, Christopher Ender Carrabba was given his first guitar by his uncle Angelo. However, until after his high school graduation, he began to have a serious interest in music. So it was that he played a few years in the band The Vacant Andies. When it came to the dissolution of the band, joined Carrabba, who now worked as a primary school teacher in Florida, The Agency and with them released his first album. When Christopher started to experiment when playing this disc with acoustic recordings, tried his band members, impressed by his plays, to persuade him to start an acoustic solo career. After The Agency also parted, Christopher, however, joined as lead singer of the Christian emocore band Further Seems Forever, but from which he adopted again after the release of their first album The Moon is Down, but to finally go his own way can. Looking for a name, it can be from the line of text "On the way home this car hears my confessions " from his song The Sharp Hint Of New Tears inspire and calls himself Dashboard Confessional.

The band

The band originated as a solo project by Chris Carraba, which in 2000, when his first solo LP The Swiss Army Romance appeared, still in the band Further Seems Forever played. He was obliged by Vagrant Records, which put otherwise bands like The Get Up Kids or Alkaline Trio. 2001 he released his second album, The Places you have come to fear the most, on which he continued to provide acoustic music. With his second album, A Mark A Mission A Brand A Scar he showed then, however, a departure from his typical acoustic music and was inspired by some friends (including Jerry Castellanos, who was in this capacity already in Further Seems Forever ) with electric bass, drums and background vocal support. The album was produced by Gil Norton, who has worked among others in works of the Foo Fighters and Pixies.

Dashboard Confessional is the first and only band that has managed to be invited for an MTV Unplugged show, to have deposited without millions of sales. This has to a large extent thanks to their fans, who were able to convince with their singing at the concerts an MTV producer that effect. Only this concert was responsible for the final breakthrough of Dashboard Confessional.

Your title Hands Down became known to a wider audience in Germany, when he tried to theme song of the TV series 18 - was alone among girls.

The single Stolen, which was placed in the U.S. charts at number 44, was admitted to the German market in a version with the band in July.

The new album " Alter The Ending" was published on 10 November 2009. There is a normal and a "deluxe " edition, in which on an additional CD all tracks in the album as acoustic versions as well as another bonus song included. The first single from the new album is entitled " Belle Of The Boulevard ".

In 2010, the band played as the opener for Bon Jovi The Circle Tour on their in the USA. This was commissioned by bandleader Jon Bon Jovi on the show " Late Night with Jimmy Fallon " on December 9, 2009.
