Dave Dunn

Dave George Dunn ( born August 19, 1948 in Moosomin, Saskatchewan ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player and coach, who in his active years from 1966 to 1978 among others for the Vancouver Canucks and Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League and the Winnipeg Jets has played in the World Hockey Association.

Career

Dave Dunn began his career as a hockey player in the team of the University of Saskatchewan, where he was active from 1966 to 1970. He subsequently received a contract with the Vancouver Canucks, which were included in the National Hockey League. First, however, he played in the next three years for their farm team, the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League and the Seattle Totems of the Western Hockey League before the defender made ​​his NHL debut for Vancouver in the 1973/74 season. In his rookie year, the Canadians scored in 68 games overall scorer 33 points, including eleven goals for the Canucks. In the following season Dunn graduated just a game for Vancouver before it was issued on October 16, 1974 in exchange for Garry Monahan and John Grisdale to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

With the team from Ontario Dunn reached in each case the NHL playoffs, where he scored one goal in 10 games and was a template for the next two seasons. In addition, the Canadians stood in the 1975/76 season in nine games for the Oklahoma City Blazers of the Central Hockey League on the ice. In the summer of 1976, Dunn joined the standing with the NHL competes World Hockey Association, in which he was active for two years for the Winnipeg Jets, with whom he concluded his playing career, the Avco World Trophy winner in the season 1977/78.

Following Dunn returned to his former club Vancouver Canucks, for which he worked from 1978 to 1981 as an assistant coach before he retired from hockey.
