Wesley David Richards ( born March 1, 1983 in Othello, Washington), better known by his ring name Davey Richards current, is an American professional wrestler. He currently performs regularly with Ring of Honor and other independent promotions. One of his greatest successes so far is winning the ROH World Championship.

Career

In his high school wrestling team and Richards was in operation Brazilian Jiu -Jitsu.

In 2004, Richards began his wrestling training. He was trained by Tony Kozina and Paul Orndorff. In June 2004, Richards played his first match.

Independent

Richards joined him to participate in various independent promotions (eg, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, or Pro Wrestling WAR) on. In Pro Wrestling Guerrilla ( PWG short ) he formed in 2005 with Super Dragon a tag team. With this he won his first title, the PWG World Tag Team title. In June 2006, he performed for the first time in Ring of Honor. On 17 November 2006 he won the PWG World Tag Team Championship for a second time, this time with Roderick Strong. The title they gave only a day later again. In February 2007, Richards made ​​with Roderick Strong and Rocky Romero, Stable " No Remorse Corps ". With these feuded Richards against the Stable " Resilience " (consisting of Austin Aries, Matt Cross and Erick Stevens). In July 2007, Richards appeared in Japan at Pro Wrestling NOAH.

In January 2008, Richards won along with Rocky Romero the ROH World Tag Team Championship. This they had to hand in April at The Briscoes (Jay Briscoe and Mark Briscoe ). In December 2008, Richards formed with Eddie Edwards, the American Wolves tag team. This won Richards on April 10, 2009, the ROH World Tag Team Championship. The title they gave off in December to The Briscoes. With Edwards Richards won the 2CW Tag Team Championship at Squared Circle Wrestling.

In autumn 2010, Richards announced that he wanted to end his career. This he rejected, however, and signed a new contract with Ring of Honor, where he won on June 26, 2011, the ROH World Championship from Eddie Edwards. The title he lost 12 May 2012 at Border Wars to Kevin Steen.

On June 18, 2012 Richards announced again on his retirement from wrestling to start a career in Brazilian Jiu -Jitsu.
