ROH Tag Team Championship

The ROH World Tag Team Championship ( to German Ring of Honor World Team Cup) is a wrestling title, the Ring of Honor awarded to tag teams. As in Wrestling common practice the allocated according to a predetermined storyline.

History

The title was introduced on 21 September 2002 at the Ring of Honor ROH Unscripted event in Philadelphia, PA as ROH Tag Team Championship. In this case, the title is awarded in a tournament that could win the Prophecy, consisting of Christopher Daniels and Donovan Morgan, in the final against the American Dragon and Michael Modest. Since the fledgling promotion decreed at this time does not have a title belt, Daniels and Morgan was awarded a special trophy. The titles issued thereafter the highest tag team title in the league.

On 9 July 2006, the " ROH Tag Team Championship" was in " ROH World Tag Team Championship" renamed and declared a World Title. Background was a title match between the Champions Generation Next (Austin Aries and Roderick Strong) against Naruki Doi and Masato Yoshino in a show of Japanese wrestling promotion Dragon Gate in Tokyo. Later, the title was defended in other places outside the U.S., for example, in England.

In the spring of 2010, the title belt received a new design.

Current Champions

The ROH World Tag Team Championship are currently reDRagon consisting of Kyle O'Reilly & Bobby Fish, in her second reign as a Tag Team. They defeated on August 17, 2013 in New York City at Manhattan Mayhem V the previous title holder The American Wolves ( Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards).
