David Hale (ice hockey)

David Hale ( born June 18, 1981 in Colorado Springs, Colorado ) is an American professional ice hockey player who with the HC Appiano plays in the Italian Serie A2 and in the Inter- National League since the summer of 2013. Before that he was for the New Jersey Devils, Calgary Flames, Phoenix Coyotes, Tampa Bay Lightning and Ottawa Senators in the National Hockey League.

Career

David Hale began his career as a hockey player with the Sioux City Musketeers, which until 2000 he was active from 1998 in the United States Hockey League. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2000 in the first round than a total of 22 players from the New Jersey Devils. First, though, he played three years for the team of the University of North Dakota, before Hale in the 2003/04 season his debut in the National Hockey League for New Jersey was for which he was on the ice a total of three and a half years before he in February was delivered to the Calgary Flames in 2007. This, in turn, transferred the Americans ahead of the 2008 /09 season to the Phoenix Coyotes. His next engagement in Phoenix and Tampa were each limited to one year before Hale after the season 2009/ 10 was a free agent. On 4 August 2010 he signed a contract with the Ottawa Senators. In October 2011, the Americans declared his playing career ended.

In the summer of 2013, the comeback followed. He signed with HC Appiano, with whom he plays in Serie A2 and in the Inter- National -League.

Internationally

For the U.S., Hale took part in the U20 World Youth Championship 2001, where he finished fifth with his team.
