David Maley

David Joseph Maley ( born April 24, 1963 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin ) is a retired American professional ice hockey forward who played for the Islanders Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey Devils, San Jose Sharks, Edmonton Oilers and New York.

Career

When David Maley has been selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1982 by the Montreal Canadiens in the second round at position 33, he had been a few years for the High School team Edina Hornets on the ice. In the fall of 1982 he went to the University of Wisconsin, before the end of the 1985/86 season the Canadiens joined. He came in three games of the regular season and seven playoff games for use and was able to celebrate at the end with the team winning the Stanley Cup. The following season he played mainly in the NHL, but had also for some games in the AHL farm team for the Canadiens de Sherbrooke.

In the summer of 1987 he was transferred to the New Jersey Devils, where he could finally prevail as physically strong defensive striker.
