David Morris (snooker player)

David Morris ( born November 27, 1988 in Kilkenny) is an Irish snooker player.

Career

Morris was successful at a young age and won several national Most machinations in his age group. At the age of 14, he made ​​it to the knockout stages of the European U19 Most shaft 2002. A year later he repeated this result, another year later, it was already the quarterfinals.

He was nominated in 2006 by the Irish Association for Snooker Main Tour. His first professional season 2006/ 07 he played well enough to defend his place on the professional tour. In 2007 he also won the Irish Classic, which, however, was not a Main Tour tournament with influence on the snooker world rankings.

The following season he made at the UK Championship in 2007 for the time being his best run in a ranking tournament when he was three qualifying rounds and only lost in the round of last 48 Ian McCulloch. He repeated this success at the Shanghai Masters 2008 and the Bahrain Championship 2008, where he was able to enter a qualifying round later due to its improved world ranking.

In the following years his services stagnated somewhat. The World Snooker Championship 2010, he once more succeeded in reaching the round of last 48, but in the world rankings, he fell back a few places. Among the top 32 of a major tournament, he came for the first time at the World Open in 2010, where there was (ie no qualifying rounds ) played directly in the knockout mode. His best finish at the Players Tour Championship 2011/12 he scored at the Antwerp Open 2011, where he won three games reached the knockout stages. There, he lost to Jack Lisowski.

The quarter-finals - after he qualified on the third Q- School tournament again in 2013 for the main tour, he succeeded at the first full ranking tournament of the 2013/14 season - the Wuxi Classic.
