2013 Wuxi Classic

The Sports Lottery Cup Snooker Wuxi Classic 2013 was a tournament as part of the Main Tour Snooker Season 2013/14, which was of 17, held until 23 June 2013 Wuxi City Sports Park Stadium in Wuxi, China.

Defending champion Ricky Walden already retired on the first lap with 2:5 against Jimmy White.

In the qualifying round Neil Robertson succeeded in the second frame of his game against Mohamed Khairy the 98th official maximum break. It was the first 147er -break of the season and the second of a total of Robertson.

In the final Neil Robertson continued with 10:7 through against John Higgins. He thus won his eighth title in a world ranking tournament.

Qualification

The qualifying matches were held from 27 to 29 May 2013 in The Capital Venue in Gloucester, England. All games were played in best-of -9 mode. For the first time in this tournament and in the Snooker Main Tour there were no qualified players. All 128 players had to qualify in an elimination match for the main round in China, so that started with 64 players in a round. Both the world number one Mark Selby and the number four, Shaun Murphy ( placement at the time of qualification), missed the qualification. Reanne Evans, however, became the first woman jump in a major tournament of the main tour.
