2013 Australian Goldfields Open

The Australian Goldfields Open 2013 were a snooker tournament in the Main Tour Snooker Season 2013/14, which was held from 8 to 14 July 2013 Bendigo Stadium in Bendigo (Australia).

Defending champion Barry Hawkins retired in the second round with 4:5 against Tom Ford.

In the final, Marco Fu sat with 9:6 against Neil Robertson through. Fu thus won his second title at a world ranking tournament.

Tournament comment

Michael White was in his qualifying match against Nigel Bond just before a maximum break when he missed the final black after 140 points. According to Mark Selby, Ken Doherty, Barry Pinches and Robin Hull, he is the fifth player to what has happened in a professional tournament this mishap.

After his team's victory and the silver medal in the individual competition at the 4th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games 2013 in Incheon Korean two days earlier joined the top Chinese player Ding Junhui due to passport problems in the final round not to. So Rory McLeod came with a free ticket to the second round.

Seeded players who lost their first game, received only half of the points (number in parentheses).

The qualifying matches were played at The Capital Venue in Gloucester ( England) from 30 May to 3 June 2013.

In the encounter Barry Pinches against Simon Bedford, a new record was set: with nearly seven and a half hours of play time is the longest best-of -9 game in professional snooker.
