Liang Wenbo

Liang Wenbo (Chinese梁文博, Liang Wenbo Pinyin; born March 5, 1987) is a professional snooker player since 2004. He lives in the Chinese province of Heilongjiang.

Career

2005 Wenbo won the IBSF Under-21 World Cup and was thus at least as one of the most promising talents in Asia. At the Asian Games in 2006 he won the silver medal with the team the gold and as individual players. In 2008 he qualified with victories over Ben Woollaston, Rod Lawler, David Gilbert and Ian McCulloch for the World Cup, his first finals appearance at a tournament the main tour. In the Crucible Theatre, he met first on the former world champion Ken Doherty, whom he defeated with 10:5. In the second round he beat Joe Swail 13-12 and moved into the quarter-finals. There he met Ronnie O'Sullivan, against whom he had a disadvantage with 7:13.

After the 2008/09 season - his outstanding result of the entry into the second round of the Northern Ireland Trophy was - he was able to improve in the world ranking in the top 32.

October 29, 2008 Liang Wenbo played in the third round of qualifying for the Bahrain Championship his first and only maximum break.

In June 2009, he won at the Beijing International Challenge, an invitational tournament in Beijing, his first title in a professional tournament.

At the Shanghai Masters, the first world ranking tournament of the season 2009/10, later succeeded him three months his biggest success. With wins over Peter Ebdon, Ali Carter and Shaun Murphy he managed to reach the final, in which he, however, could not be dangerous Ronnie O'Sullivan at 5:10.

In April 2013 he reached the mark of 100 achieved Breaks Century 49th player in professional snooker.

In October 2013, he won the Open Zhengzhou his first tournament of the PTC series. He defeated in the final of his compatriot Lu Haotian 4-0.
