David Plaza

David Plaza Romero ( born July 3, 1970 in Madrid ) is a former Spanish cyclist.

1991 David won the Vuelta a Madrid Plaza, which he again succeeded three years later. Also in 1991 he won at the Vuelta a Toledo and was third in the team time trial of the Mediterranean Games, together with José Ortega, Miguel Fernández and Álvaro González de Galdeano. In 1992 Plaza at the Olympic Games in Barcelona in the team time trial over 100 kilometers. Along with Fernández, González Mancebo and Eleuterio he finished fifth.

Decided in 1999 Plaza Portugal Tour for themselves. He twice took part in the Tour de France, but this could end only in 2003 as 22, when he was team-mate Jan Ullrich in the team Bianchi. In 2000 he won a stage and the overall rating of the Germany tour, and the following year the Vuelta Ciclista de Chile. In the Vuelta a España 2001, he reached his best finish in this tour with his fifth of seven appearances with the sixth place.
