De Queen is a city and county seat in Sevier County of the U.S. state of Arkansas. 2010, the population was about 6,600 people living on less than 15 square kilometers.

De Queen is part of the socio-economic region Ark- La - Tex, which has arisen between the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.

History

The city was built along a railway line, which was built in the late 1880s as the Kansas City, Pittsburgh and Gulf Railroad from Kansas City, Missouri to Port Arthur in Texas. During the financial crisis that began in 1893, Arthur Stilwell sought in Europe for new sponsors. This he finally found in January DeGoeijen with which he was able to collect a total of 3 million U.S. dollars.
