Delegation (Band)

Delegation was a British music group from the disco era. Their musical style is similar to that of the group Chic or Sister Sledge.

Band History

Delegation was founded in 1975 by Ricky Bailey, Len Coley and Roddy Harris in Birmingham, United Kingdom. In collaboration with producer and songwriter Ken Gold ( The Real Thing ), the band released several singles, such as Where is the Love ( We Used to Know), which reached number 22 in the charts in the home, and you've Been Doing Me Wrong, which nevertheless still climbed 49 position. 1977 was followed by the album The Promise of Love, which made ​​it into the U.S. Billboard 200.

Then Coley left the band and was replaced by Bruce Dunbar. In 1981 Delegation II, Deuces High was released in 1982. Both were in Europe still moderately successful, but flopped in the U.S.. 1984 Dunbar left the band and was replaced by Kathy Bryant. The group recorded a few singles that flopped almost without exception. Mid-1990s, founded Bailey and gold together Euro - Jam Records and published compilations of old hits. The reunited band released their last album in 1996: Encore in Europe.

Samples
