Democratic Party of Nauru

The Democratic Party of Nauru (English: Democratic Party of Nauru, DPN) is a political party in Nauru. It was founded in January 1987 by Kennan Adeang after it lost the presidency for the second time within two months to hammer DeRoburt. The DPN is the successor organization to the mid -1970s, existing, informal Nauru party. Its chairman Bernard Dowiyogo then supported the DPN in Parliament.

The goal was to prevent a power expansion of the then President DeRoburt and to strengthen the role of Parliament. 1989 Party member kenos Aroi was due to strong using Adeangs and a parliamentary no-confidence vote against President DeRoburt, but only for four months. Last time was in late 1996 with Adeang a DPN - member President. The DPN lost after increasing influence; at least since 2000, she has no more seat in Parliament. Was founded in 2003 by David Adeang, the son of Kennan Adeang that Naoero Amo Party.
