Denny Lambert

Denny Lambert ( born January 9, 1970 in Wawa, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player and current coach, who played during his playing career in the National Hockey League for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Ottawa Senators, Nashville Predators and Atlanta Thrashers. Lambert was known throughout his career as an Enforcer.

Playing career

The Canadian began his career at a young age at the Hockey Teams of the Sault Ste. Marie Legion and Sault Ste. Marie Thunderbirds, where he was active in the Northern Ontario Hockey Association. He then went three years in the Ontario Hockey League for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on the ice. In 1991, Lambert joined the San Diego Gulls and graduated in the 1991/92 season a total of 74 games in the International Hockey League, scored 31 points scorer and received 229 penalty minutes. In the following season, the left winger was largely at the Gulls in use and also also completed five games for the St. Thomas Wildcats from the Colonial Hockey League.

In August 1993 he signed without ever having been selected in NHL Entry Draft, as a free agent a contract with the newly formed NHL franchise the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. However, the following two years spent Lambert back in the IHL with the San Diego Gulls and returned in 1995, returned to Anaheim to collect his first experience in the National Hockey League in the 1994/95 season. The following year he played mainly at the Baltimore Bandits of the American Hockey League, but received at the Ducks regular inserts and then finally managed to jump into the NHL team.

After his contract was not renewed at the Californians, he signed in July 1996 - again as a free agent - a contract with the Ottawa Senators. There he established himself at once as a regular player and graduated from there in two years a total of 169 games for the Senators. When NHL Expansion Draft 1998, he was selected by the newly formed franchise of the Nashville Predators and played in the 1998/99 season a total of 76 games for the team from Tennessee, where he scored 16 points. On 16 August 1999 it gave them in a transfer to the Atlanta Thrashers in exchange for Randy Robitaille went to the Predators. After Lambert had also counted on the Thrashers to the regular forces, he was transferred on 2 July 2001 in a swap deal to Anaheim. For the Ducks, he could win a regular place in turn, but his contract was not renewed after just one season. As simplistic loose player he moved in January 2003 to the Milwaukee Admirals in the American Hockey League and left it there end his active career.

Coaching career

On 11 July 2003 Lambert was end of his career as an active player known at the same time he became the assistant coach of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds appointed. In the following five years he worked in this position and worked with, among others, the head coach Craig Hartsburg. After Hartsburg in June 2008, the Ottawa Senators took over, Lambert was his successor as head coach of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds appointed. After the 2008/09 season with 19 wins and 45 defeats ended, he was in the following season with 36 wins and 27 defeats for the first time have a positive balance.
