Dessau (region)
The county of Dessau was one of the three administrative districts of Saxony- Anhalt. He lay in the east of the country. Historically, the government district went back to the land Anhalt.
As part of the restoration of the countries in the nascent GDR in resolution 1990, the Region of Dessau was established in the northern part of this defunct GDR district hall.
On 1 January 2004 the government district of Dessau was dissolved. The tasks of the former government took over the Bureau set up for the whole province Landesverwaltungsamt based in Halle (Saale ).
