Diane Clare

Diane Clare ( born July 8, 1938 in London as Diane Dirsztay, † June 21, 2013 ) was a British actress in film and television. She played in the 1950s and 1960s, various roles in British theater productions. Including in films such as Ice Cold in Alexandria, A man goes his way, The Haunting or nights of horror.

Life and career

Diane Clare, born 1938 in London, her film career began with a small supporting role in Stanley Donen comedy film classic Indiscreet. The main roles Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman played. In the same year they occupied the director J. Lee Thompson in the role of Sister Denise Norton in the war drama Ice Cold in Alexandria. They also played 1958 in Vincente Minnelli's romantic love comedy What does Mama love? .

Back in 1959, Diane Clare had also turned to television, where he played in episodes of successful series. Belonged to her appearances in the new medium ITV Television Playhouse (1959 ), Persuasion ( 1960 to 1961 ), The Edgar Wallace Mystery Theatre ( 1963), Z Cars (1964 ) or The Avengers and melon (1965).

In 1966 she starred alongside André Morell as the female lead in the Hammer Film Production nights of horror. In 1968, she ended her film career in Frederic Goode's horror film The angel of death on the side of William Sylvester.

Clare married in 1967, the author Barry England. The marriage lasted until his death in 2009. The couple had two children, Kate and Christopher.

Diane Clare died on June 21, 2013 at the age of 74 years.
