Diocese of Ross (Scotland)

Rossmarkaeum ( Italian: Rosemarkie ) is a titular of the Roman Catholic Church. It has existed since 1974.

It goes back to the bishopric of Ross which comprised roughly the area of the counties of Ross -shire and Cromartyshire in the Scottish Highlands. The seat of the diocese was probably originally in Rosemarkie, not later than the thirteenth century, but in Fortrose, both located on the Black Isle. This diocese was referred to in the twelfth century as Rosemarkie, Ross later than diocese. It belonged to the Ecclesiastical Province of Saint Andrews.
