Doehler is a leading global manufacturer of food additives. In Europe Doehler is the market leader in Essences for drinks. Are produced flavors and emulsions, natural colors, basic materials, fruit preparations, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage bases, dairy bases, malt and cereal bases, sweetening and fruit and vegetable juices, purees and concentrates. Company History

Early years and first entrepreneurial success

A spice mill, which was founded in 1838 by Lorenz Doehler in Erfurt, is the parent company of the group Doehler. In 1892 William Gemmer took over the company. To date, the Group is family owned. In 1924 Leo Gemmer took over the management and led the company into an expansion phase. He founded two production plants, where new brand products are produced, such as " Doehler pudding ", " Backfein " and "Back Pride".

Resettlement, innovation and expansion

Expropriated by the administration of the former eastern zone in 1948, the family moved to West Gemmer. With the offer of basic materials and flavors for soft drinks industry, the company expanded its product portfolio in 1952. Darmstadt 1957 new headquarters and there followed a long period of innovation and expansion, were taken at the German competitors like Olymparom essences or Wallerstein.

Internationalization

With the acquisition of Citrusco NV, a Belgian company, in 1982 the first step of Doehler group to an expansion beyond Germany's borders. In 1986, the company entered the market of lumpy fruit preparations for the dairy and ice cream. After the opening of markets to Western companies, the group of companies in 1990 founded subsidiaries in India, Russia, Poland and the Czech Republic.

In 1995, the Euro - Citrus in Oosterhout (Netherlands ) and the 2001 Dinter GmbH in New churches were acquired. In between, the foundation was further locations in China (1996 ), Brazil (1997) and Dubai ( 2000). In recent years, followed by other cooperations and acquisitions, such as the partnership with ALKO International in the Netherlands ( 2005) or Innoval Doehler in Mexico (2006). In China, Brazil and Russia also other production facilities were built (2006-2008).

In 2007, the acquisition of fruit juice division of Jahncke with plants in Poland and Ukraine took place. In addition, participation in Bonjuice was purchased, a modern production and services company for the beverage and food industry. In cooperation with Ruland Engineering & Consulting GmbH, Doehler Group now also offers the design and construction of mixing systems and syrup rooms.

Doehler today

At the Darmstadt site with the new customers and Communication Center (2004 ) and the new flavor factory (2011) were completed more extensions. Doehler now has 23 production and 24 application centers, 50 sales offices and is active in over 130 countries. Work more than 3,000 employees for Doehler Worldwide.
