Dolhasca

Dolhasca is a town in Suceava County in Romania.

Location

Dolhasca is located in the foothills of the Eastern Carpathians, on the right bank of the river Siret. The county capital of Suceava is located about 35 km north-west.

History

Dolhasca was at the beginning of the 15th century - first mentioned - during the reign of Alexandru cel Bun. In 2004, the place the status of a city.

Population

As of the 2002 census lived in Dolhasca 11,009 people, including 9,903 Romanians and 1,104 Roma. About 3,500 lived in the city proper, 7,500 in the seven incorporated villages.

Traffic

Through the city's rail route Bucharest - Suceava runs. At the station of Dolhasca including high-speed trains. Here branches off the side rail off after Fălticeni. There exist also a regular bus service.
