Dolomites Gold Cup Race
The Coppa d' Oro delle Dolomiti (Gold Cup of the Dolomites ) was an automobile racing on public roads, which was held in Italy from 1947 to 1956. It has always driven the same route of 303.800 kilometers in a single day with start and finish in Cortina d' Ampezzo. The race was initiated by the Automobile Club in Belluno, who is the owner today; in 1972 it was designated as a reenactment vintage uniformity race is listed in the international calendar of the FIA as " Big CSAI - event".
The name
The official name of the race has changed over the years. In 1947 it was called Coppa delle Dolomiti, finally for the three editions from 1948 to 1950 Coppa Internazionale delle Dolomiti and 1951-1956 Coppa d' Oro delle Dolomiti.
The price and the award ceremony
The prize is an artistic reproduction of the milestone the Strada Statale 48 delle Dolomiti from Cortina d'Ampezzo, inserted into a boulder of the Dolomites, which emulates a group summit of the mountain. The award was presented every pilot permanently, which is behind the other down the best times three years in total.
