Career

Pittis played during his junior time in the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the Western Hockey League and was selected in the second round of the NHL Entry Draft in 1993 by the Pittsburgh Penguins than 52.

His professional career began in the International Hockey League. He first played for the Cleveland Lumberjacks, and later for the Long Beach Ice Dogs. In the 1996/97 season he was with a game for the Penguins his debut in the NHL. After a season with the Syracuse Crunch in the American Hockey League, he signed as a free agent with the Buffalo Sabres. Again, he brought it on only three games. Usually he was in the AHL with the Rochester Americans in use. Although he was the best scorer in the AHL, his breakthrough in the NHL did not succeed. From the summer of 2000 he played for the Edmonton Oilers in the NHL only. A large part of the 2001/02 season he missed because of a head injury. Even after his move to the Nashville Predators threw him a recent head injury from the race. So also followed again inserts in the AHL with the Milwaukee Admirals.

After he was again mostly used after his return to the Buffalo Sabres in the AHL in Rochester, he opted for a move to Europe. Since then he went for the Kloten Flyers on the ice. His contract with Kloten ran up to the 2009/10 season, however, he announced him prematurely on 8 January 2008. Three days later, on 11 January, it was announced that he would go to the ZSC Lions Canton rivals.

2006, 2007 and 2010 played the 1.80 m wide Canadians at the Spengler Cup in Davos for Team Canada.
