Double Plaidinum is the fourth album by Lagwagon. It was released on 19 August 1997.

Cover

The cover is coated with two different plaid patterns. The album title is a play on words, which is supported by the cover. The album title sounds like " Double Platinum " (Eng. " double platinum " ) and the band thus takes other bands on the grain, the post on major labels and sell for awards such as Golden or platinum records. Lagwagon want to express that it is not meant for music, amassing particularly many awards since the bands thus degenerated into products.

Album

Like its predecessor, Hoss again produced by Ryan Greene, this time in the engine Studio in San Francisco, the album sounds different than the previous one. The new guitarists are listening to harder riffs in the songs. The album is more than influenced by punk rock from skate punk. The songs are melodic, although the rhythm is still fast, but not rushed and continued without change in rhythm.

After Derrick Plourde left the band, he was replaced by Dave Raun, who is a drummer until today. Guitarist Shawn Dewey was replaced by Ken Stringfellow. After Double Plaidinum he left the band again, however.
